How listings are reviewed, verified, and maintained.
A business qualifies for inclusion as a "German business" if it meets at least one of these criteria:
Every submission is reviewed by hand. We check that required fields are present, that the business address resolves to a real US location, that the website (where provided) is live, and that the German connection claim is plausible from public information. If anything is unclear or missing, we email the submitter for clarification before approving. Most listings are approved within 24 hours of submission.
Every business detail page has a "Claim this listing" button. Once claimed and approved, the owner can edit the listing directly from their account dashboard. Claimed listings are sorted above unclaimed listings on category, state, city, and search results pages — owners who actively maintain their listings get priority placement.
Every business detail page has a "Suggest a correction" link. Submitted corrections are reviewed by the editorial team — if a correction is supported by public information, we apply it within 48 hours. Business owners who claim their listing can edit any field directly from their account dashboard. To request removal of a listing entirely, contact us via the contact page.
DeutscheUnternehmen.com currently has no paid placement product. All listings are free and treated identically by the editorial team. Sort order on listing pages is determined by whether a listing has been claimed by its owner, then alphabetically by name. Editorial decisions about eligibility, accuracy, and presentation are made independently of any commercial relationship.
A paid Featured placement and an editorially-awarded Verified badge are in development and will be documented here when they launch publicly.
